A haven of refuge for a plethora of birds
A cardinal, a blue jay, a raven
A sparrow, a woodpecker, a robin
Birds of different sizes and colors
Inhabit the tree amid the leaves and flowers
They live peacefully with nary a fight
Nobody trying to invade or show their might
Reminds me of the denizens of this world
Of the people of different color and creed
If speechless creatures can share a tree in harmony
Why we, humans, can’t live in amity?
Is it because we have bigger brains and we can think
Or is it because we have the ability to speak?
