but lately I have been
carrying you,
the shadow you,
that weighs so little
and fits comfortably on my back.
Our journey to the sunny side,
is hazardous.
The sat-nav has left us
high and dry.
The map is nothing more
than a spaghetti of destinations
written in a language
neither of us speaks.
Perhaps if we were to keep
the sun on the left
and study closely
the moss on trees,
we might yet find a way
through this quagmire
back to that point
before it all began.
