A necessary part of life
It is also
A natural and an unnatural part of life
Without it
We don't grow
Too much of it
And we are arrested in our development
This most forceful
Of human phenomenon
Occurs both intra- psychically
And interpersonally
There are many ways
Human beings
Have dealt
With this most challenging of phenomenon
They have tried
To beat it
Wrestle with it
Make love to it
Appease it
Cajole it
Water it and nourish it
Feed it
The one thing
The mature know
Not to do
Not to ever even consider
The one thing
The adult in us
Warns us not to exercise in mind or action
Is to ignore it
