And so it is... yet.
Stuck in a time past but not yet here.
Lost in the traditions of many, yet alone in the freedoms of a few.
Desperate to exist, yet not be seen.
Life is beautiful, yet death is fair.
Many cry out love, yet pain is the outcome.
Intelligent, yet lacking in wisdom.
Thought to be profound, yet the shallowest of the shallow.
Air everywhere, yet struggling to breathe.
Walking great distances, yet paralyzed from the waist down.
Talking a mile a minute, yet mute.
Hearing the voice of instruction, yet deaf.
Touching done right is art, yet the skin hungers.
Accomplished, yet under appreciated.
Surrounded, yet alone.
No more death by crucifixion, yet history repeats itself.
Popular, yet a friend, a friend, my kingdom for a friend.
The universe is infinite, yet we are running out of space.
Seeking the truth, yet liars are welcomed.
Not wanting to die, yet fearful of living.
Heaven is amazing, yet no one wants to go there.
F@#k the police, yet dial 911.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, yet she cannot see past herself.
Save the unborn, yet send them off to war when ready.
Keep politics out of Religion, yet Religion is politics.
God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, yet he fits in a book.
In plain sight, yet out of mind.
It is all about you, yet it is all about me.
Married, yet not in a marriage.
Commitment, yet no compromise.
Broken, yet useful.
Godly yet unholy.
Love you with all my heart, yet not my mind.
All lives matter, yet not to each other.
Humanity is resilient, yet fragile.
I need you, yet I do not want you.
Sex is not love, yet sex is loved.
Freedom of speech, yet please remain silent.
I'll sell you my soul, yet not my body.
I love you, yet I do not trust you.
Life is complex, yet it is what it is.
and so it is... yet.

You are the reason,
Reason to believe in devotion, passion, and beauty
Telling me to
stand straight
with the shyness of sky, the integrity of mountains, Sparks of fireballs.

You are the reason,
Reason to believe in confidence of women’s souls
Telling me to
How beautiful the stretch marks, wrinkles, and freckles
Like it's a reminder of the battles you fought like a fighter.

You are the reason,
Reason to believe that life is never fair to us
Telling me to
Determine braider always strike fairer aspects towards life and the people

You are the reason,
Reason to believe in the worth of self-love, loyalty, and gratitude.
Telling me to
Stand-alone rather than having a man with no guts.

You are the reason,
Reason to believe in the healing and vulnerability would decor of the human soul
Telling me to
Accept the flaws of your own sanctuary.

Author Bio:
Shanu always is a shy thinker and messy girl. Ever since she realized the importance of words and their impact on someone's life, she tries to paint her opinions, beliefs and her courage rawly and creatively in her poems, her childhood spent with her determined mother with she learns how she becomes independent and fearless in the society. Currently, she writes on the topic where she stretches out injustice dispersed all over society. She is growing to be a woman who knows her worth without validating by society judgment.

Blurry, dizzy cracks in the ceiling I
woke up and felt blurry, dizzy, barely
made it out the door;
Maybe it was particles in the air, maybe it was what I was breathing;
dirty floors dirty floors paint
peeling from the ceiling, couldn't breathe;
White noise, can't sleep just
the lamp, dark but not really dark, masks,
sleeping masks, dark, dark as possible--
hormones buzzing in;
I can't go to bed. I worry sometimes.

I'm not tired,
blurring insomnia, medicine in milligrams.
Dirty floors, cracks in the ceiling
Today I would have today insomnia
Sometimes I look at the clock.
I'm not sleeping.

Morning, usually it's morning, sometimes afternoon.
Insomnia, middle of the
day, confused,
Looking at the clock, going outside…

Remember I want you
to eat if you're hungry.
Remember what happened.
Your body is telling you,
you have to make yourself eat, you're
gonna be hungry.
You have to make yourself.

I dug my fingers deep
in a mulch bed.
This was where I first
began to dream.
My mother would let
the sun dip low
before she called me in,
sent me straight to the sink
to wash dark matter
from my nails and hands
like I had scratched away
the sky on nights
I couldn’t find the moon.
These are the parts of me
I notice when you run
out the front door
on the warmest winter day,
when you stand at the border
of mulch beds, circle
the trees with your arms.
I want to take you
by your shoulders, say
catch this now
catch this fast
get your clothes dirty
and dig up every worm.
I want to say
I miss the way my mother
looked at me
when the day was over
when water was boiling
in a roll on the stove
when time together started
when my hands were dry

and clean.

Yasmin Mariam Kloth has been keeping journals and scribbling lines of poetry since she was eight years old. Her greatest inspiration is her five-year-old daughter, whose questions open an infinite number of doors into imaginative and creative worlds. on carpet board
curlicue toes

misdirected view
untraceable beak
within coppice leaves
sabotaging the silence

exercise curtailed
unidentified
spy
turn, turn in wishful whist
player of two eyes
perplexed

its view, fields of
scattered omelettes

third stretch position, arms
triangle, pull down
spring-muscular frame
tension of tide

foreign interference
pause-button
bravado
sassy New Holland honeyeater
lively lipping, badgering
Kookaburra

Mohawk, beak on
steroids
unperturbed
Kingfisher
rhymes my mirth

plummet-up leg,
hold, kangaroo-hop, release
embroider of limbs, amongst
tapestry bird scenes
